How they Live

I left home at early morning at 5:00 with one dirty bag and a hook. In the early morning it feel cooler that noon time therefore I have to get up early morning. I picked shirt, shoe, trouser, slipper, and others that can be used for my own use sometimes.

I went around garbage dump, especially when truck came I have to claim up early to find better things like plastic, aluminum, glass bottle, papers for box, iron, copper, food for pigs. In the night at 12 o’clock I hire head light which charged 600 riles (0.15 US$).

One day I can get about 5,000 riels (1.25US$). I buy cheaper, candy, ice scream, cake . I save this money to buy used clothes, slipper, plastic watch. In case I found used clothes, slipper and shoes inside garbage I picked it and wash it then I use it to pick up garbage. When I get sick I just take a rest without swallowing medicine because it is costly. Once my foot got injury, I was sent to clinic which charged me 2 dollars.

I have never had breakfast. If there is an old rice it OK, but care taker always leave it for her children. I have lunch and dinner at home sometimes. I am often with the garbage truck at Phsar Deum Thkao market that I got 10,000 riels (2.50US$) per day.

I and My younger sister have never attended school because my life need only food day by day. Sometimes driver give me food. I have meal at the garbage dump because it is cheaper and suitable for my small money.
I went enter in cch by moto taxi help me and he said you should stayed here because it make you both have attened school and will get a good life .

Favorite meat: pork, beef, chicken, duck, fish and others
Favorite fruits: grape, papaya, jack fruit, mango, litchi, cucumber, durian, dragon eyes, custard apple, water melon ,etc.
Favorite sports and games: foot ball, rocket, throwing shuttle cock, car race, etc.
