Our Model

A Few Projects, Complete Focus

Canodia will only focus on a few projects at one time. We believe that it’s important to know our local organizations very well and work with them for the long term and greater benefit of the children and youth. We know the Directors, staff and the children wherever we work. We visit our projects and spend time with them at minimum twice a year.

We select our projects through our personal experience with them. There are many great humanitarian organizations and it’s often difficult to select our focus. We do believe that with a focused approach, we can have a greater impact. In that regard we carefully select organizations that represent our mission and values the best.

We have established eligibility criteria that we use to determine our grantee partners and have suitable support for their integrity. We work on-the-ground with these organizations, their leaders and the children.

Value Added Services

We help strengthen our grantee partners by offering our talents, skills and vocation to further their development. Our aim is to help them optimize the use of grant funding and assist them be more sustainable over the long term.

We can work with organizations in many ways. We offer management support and can provide guidance in such areas as strategic planning, board governance, development of policies and procedures, accounting and financial reporting, computer systems, fundraising plans and use of funds, volunteer coordination, program development and administration. At times we may engage local expertise where needed, such as Cambodian legal council.

Where possible, we will transfer our knowledge and skills to the people in Cambodia and the children. We don’t just want to help them now, but want to enable them for the future.

100% of Donations Granted

Canodia grants 100% of the donations received to our partner organizations, on a tax deductible basis!! Our operating costs are funded by personal contributions, so donor funds can be used exclusively for the children we serve. We do this, because we believe in our mission and love these children that desperately need our help.

Canodia is operated exclusively by volunteers that share our passion. We are people just like you. Most of us have families, jobs and bills to pay just like you. We give our time to Canodia, because we completely believe in our mission and our ability to affect change. None of us take any compensation.

Our Strength

Our strength is that we have strong relationships with the organizations and children we serve. We provide them with funding, but also work with them on the ground to strengthen their work and ensure that funds are used for the greater benefit of the children. We work with organizations to ensure organizations are sustainable and enable the children to grow up empowered to work and improve the life of the citizens of Cambodia.

Our strength is that we bring our experiences home with us to donors in Canada and children and youth in school. We raise awareness of child issues in other countries and inspire children and youth to make a difference in the world. An increased awareness of these issues inspires them to make a difference here at home and elsewhere. It also helps them better appreciate the benefits we have living here in a great country.
